Mechanics backlog follow-up — 2026-10-02

This follow-up corrects and supersedes selected first-pass findings in the initial run report. It records current source/runtime status after the separate class-mechanics workers completed their bounded changes. It is not an all-class or balance certification.

Current catalog inventory

The generated RuneWaker catalog contains 932 skills: 590 active and 342 passive, with 937 rank rows. All 932 generated rows have resolved icon sources. Runtime composes 936 ability definitions (the 932 generated rows plus four separately composed definitions) and 937 ranked versions, for 1,873 definition/rank entries. These counts are asserted by src/game/romPlayerCatalog.test.ts and the generated snapshot at src/game/romPlayerCatalog.generated.json. The older 929-row class coverage table is historical.

Resolved implementation updates

  • WoW Hunter pets: Cat is now a selectable, persisted player-pet profile alongside Wolf and Turtle. The local Cat kit has Claw, Rake, and Prowl; Rake keeps its direct physical packet separate from its armor-ignoring bleed, and Prowl's one-charge damage bonus applies to a ready melee auto before spell autocasts. Generated Hunter companions remain Wolf. Other family abilities, pet care/training, and owner critical-stat inheritance remain open. See the family note.
  • RoM Knight: Divine Punishment 491608 uses current CoA's 28.5% Punishment bonus and 2% general damage-taken increase per pre-spend Holy Seal for 10 seconds. God's Vengeance 499934 uses the separately learned Knight/Rogue child Punishment 499909; at exactly four of its own target's Seals, a landed hit resets only the caster's learned Shadow Step. Panther's Blessing 493047 restores 10% max HP and 1% max MP on a resolved dodge. The percentage pools and whole-point rounding are explicit simulator interpretations because CoA does not define the bases or rounding. The legacy RuneWaker +2 Dodge child remains suppressed. See the Knight source audit and Panther runtime note.
  • RoM Champion: Rank-2 Forge 498604 is the level-22 upgrade of Forge 498523 through Chain Drive 498535. Its normal-attack trigger preserves group order: Forge stack and Rage resolve even if the later effect roll fails; group 1 uses an 80% exact Shield Form buff check, then a 30% fallback, with the target resolved once. The eight-second effect resets Rune Pulse through its effect-use callback. Rune Pulse 498529 grants +20% outgoing physical and magical damage for one second at cast acceptance, so it expires before the two-second impact; it does not boost that impact. Dark Energy Strike 498599 resolves physical then Shadow packets; a surviving positive physical result gates one 15% cast-level reset of the owner's Rune Siphon, regardless of the later Shadow packet's result. Rank-1 Forge companion auto-attacks now emit owner/expiry-qualified roll eligibility; fully absorbed swings do not proc, while a landed normal swing grants its own stack and +16 Rage total (+10 Forge, +6 normal attack). Focused Forge, Champion, and party-runtime tests passed 74 tests across three files. The next-Curse transform, Shield Form's complete child behavior, and Rune Overload target selection also remain unresolved. See the Champion source follow-up and Dark Energy runtime note.
  • RoM Druid source-only findings: Revival Slash 499496's hidden child has a 25% roll after the original target survives the physical group; it runs once per surviving cast. Its reduced hidden HolyHeal/HoT is not a complete runtime formula. Spring Flower Eulogy's learned child 499935 has a bound 30% +1 Nature Power group and source-defined six-second stack/expiry chain, including 1/3/5% max-HP timeout heals. The periodic tick formula still needs final native healing values. Learned Inspiration Display child 499942 has an ordered, 60%-gated first effect and 30% fallback, plus the 10-second timeout modifier; this proves the learned variant's acquisition path, not an automatic trigger from public Inspiration or Spiritual Gush. Quick Light Protection, Boiling Rock, local Avalanche, and Extended Recovery's Nature Power chance remain without usable local numeric triggers. Verified base MND maps to Wisdom, but no final effective MND, MDMG, Magic Power/MPow, HealPowerRate, HealPoint, and target-heal-absorption bindings were established. See the Druid source follow-up; these source findings alone do not claim complete playable heals.
  • RoM Warlock: local RuneWaker Mind Shield 498648 guarantees a Ring of Comfort reset after a landed Urgent Heal when learned; current CoA still leaves its separate chance unquantified, so this local rule is not imported. Local learned 499869 is level-70 Warlock/Warrior Mind Transference (key 546844, prerequisite 499868, slot 25), converting Rage to Soul Points and applying its EndUseLua addition/suppression; it is not current-CoA Psychic Warrior or Enraged. Local End of Thought 498699 is Warlock/Rogue and has a pre-hit <=35%-HP callback that applies a four-second buff, but its one-second child has no located native timed-magic consumer. Breathing Control 498634 and Deep Breathing Control 499870 still have no local trigger contract. These source findings do not complete the current-CoA Psychic Warrior damage path, Mind Shield chance/Defense Net amount, End of Thought current-version contract, or Breathing riders. See the Warlock source follow-up and current-CoA conflicts audit.

Verification and current limits

The aggregate focused run passed 382 tests across 35 files, with four existing IndexedDB skips. Ready-five passed 7 Vitest tests and 20 Python tests. After the narrow Hunter summon-card CSS correction, the fresh 8 GB TypeScript/Vite production build, prebuild asset audits, and release-bundle verification passed. The earlier four baseline assertions and the current catalog/count assertions now pass; the earlier 202-test/20-file run and 63-path release check in the initial report remain historical results, not the latest totals.

Final Cat UI QA passed, including a replay against the exact final production build. Native pet/reaction selectors, mouse Stay/Follow controls, Growl, and the real-combat change lock responded. The Cat selector persisted across reload while a second character remained Wolf. In the final narrow screenshot, the party row ended at y=269 and the selector card occupied y=306–420, leaving a 37-pixel gap; there was no top-right HUD overlap or horizontal overflow, and the loaded canvas was visible. Escape opened pause, Spellbook opened, the actual Call Pet entry was clicked, and the overlay closed with the existing Cat still selected; this verifies that activation route, not summoning after the pet is absent. Revive remains untested because the pet never died. No live Rake/Prowl cast or Cat model appearance has been verified. There were no page or HTTP errors; the only console message was a favicon 404. The rank-1 Forge companion event correction is implemented; focused Forge, Champion, and party-runtime tests passed 74 tests across three files. Ready-five passed 7 Vitest and 20 Python tests after the correction. The 382/35 aggregate with four existing skips is the earlier passing selection, and the 74-test selection overlaps it; do not add the totals. The final post-fix 8 GB TypeScript/Vite production build passed with prebuild asset audits and bundle verification; Vite processed 1,260 modules in 11.58 seconds. npm run release:check passed across 94 changed paths, including untracked files. The full repository test suite and all-class balance sweeps were not run.
