# WoW Mage Netherwind Presence
## Source and selected behavior
The local generated 3.3.5a talent node `talent-1846` is the authority for this
custom Netherwind Presence mechanic. Its three rank rows are spells 44400,
44402, and 44403. The rank tooltips explicitly grant 1%, 2%, or 3% spell haste
per stack for 10 seconds, up to three stacks. Thus the maximum rank-1/2/3 haste
is 3%/6%/9%. Each rank's DBC row reports a 100% Proc Trigger Spell effect and
the class mask (`[536872960, 0, 0]`) is the same across ranks. The rank rows link
to child spells 966120, 966121, and 966122, respectively, and each has
`procChance` 100 with no generated `procFlags` field. No WotLKDB fallback was
used: its stock spell 44400 is a different, permanent 2% Netherwind Presence
effect and does not describe this local custom talent.
The generated tooltip names seven trigger spells: Arcane Missiles, Arcane
Barrage, Arcane Blast, Arcane Orb, Moonfire, Starfire, and Starsurge. The
current generated Mage ability catalog contains Arcane Missiles, Arcane
Barrage, and Arcane Blast. Arcane Orb is absent; Moonfire, Starfire, and
Starsurge are Druid abilities in this project, not Mage catalog entries. They
are kept in the source inventory but cannot trigger a Mage talent until the
corresponding Mage actions exist. Slow is not a stacking trigger; it is the
separate capstone action.
## Runtime mapping and limits
- One eligible spell cast commitment adds one stack, refreshes the 10-second
duration, and stops at three stacks. The local talent row does not include
proc phase flags, so awarding at accepted cast commitment is an explicit
event-phase inference. The runtime awards at most one stack per cast,
including one stack for a channel cast rather than one stack per missile
pulse. Failed or invalid casts do not reach this hook; a cast interrupted
after commitment keeps its stack, matching the chosen commitment-time
interpretation.
- Each stack contributes the rank's 1%/2%/3% to the existing spell-haste aura
stat. The general talent parser skips this talent so its conditional haste
does not become an always-on bonus.
- At max talent rank and three stacks, a Slow cast applies a separate 30%
movement-speed aura for three seconds. The tooltip does not say this consumes
Netherwind Presence, so the three haste stacks remain and keep their original
expiry.
- The capstone aura is consumed by the player movement controller and generated
party companion follow controller, multiplying displacement by 1.3 while
active. Expired or differently targeted auras do not change movement. Runtime
tests verify the modifier and expiry; an in-scene movement playtest remains
useful to confirm feel and pathing.
The implementation intentionally does not add substitute Mage spell rows for
Arcane Orb, Moonfire, Starfire, or Starsurge. Adding them requires local
class-attribution/ability data beyond Netherwind Presence itself.
