RoM Rogue Hands: Poisonous Hands and Energized Hands

Source choice and scope

This feature replaces the stale RuneWaker behavior only for the generated rom-rogue primary rows 490329 and 490347. Other class-pair rows and generated source data are unchanged. The current CoA Rogue skill page is the behavior source; CoA patch notes resolve changes that the page does not explain. The rom-rogue local resource profile is used for simulator base values. No WoW/WotLK data is relevant to these RoM skills.

The current CoA page lists 490329 Poisonous Hands and 490347 Energized Hands as Rogue-primary-only skills, each lasting 900 seconds and mutually exclusive. The page gives each a 1-second cast, but the later 12.1.5.1004 post-patch note says execution time decreases with faster main-hand attack speed. The simulator currently uses the page's 1-second value as a base/local fallback.

Poisonous Hands (490329; child 490357)

  • CoA says regular attacks have a chance to apply a 900-second target debuff that reduces the target's damage by 8%. The 12.1.0.4000 patch says it stacks up to ten times, the damage reduction is fixed regardless of stack count, and applying a target stack also grants attack speed for the current target. The 12.1.0.5000 patch confirms that switching targets resets the effect.
  • The local generated component 500715 supplies the 50% normal-attack proc chance and triggers child 490357. The current CoA page says only “a chance” and the patch notes do not quantify it, so 50% is preserved as an explicit local fallback rather than represented as a CoA-confirmed value.
  • Each successful application adds one target stack, up to ten. The target receives one fixed 8% damage-dealt reduction from the aura; it does not gain another 8% per stack. Each newly applied target stack grants one 1% self attack-speed stack, also capped at ten. Reaching the target cap does not advance the self ramp. A landed normal attack against a different target removes the prior target's self-ramp aura before tracking the new target. The target debuff remains on its original target until its own expiry.
  • The skill uses one Poison Bottle per CoA's tooltip. The simulator has no Poison Bottle inventory or consumable-cost model, so it currently displays that requirement but does not consume or validate an item.

Energized Hands (490347)

  • The current page gives a 900-second self effect: Energy recovery +100%, skill cooldowns reduced by 0.1 seconds, maximum Energy +50%, and Energy costs +20%. The 12.1.0.4000 patch confirms the recovery and cost values; 12.1.0.5000 adds the cooldown and maximum-Energy riders.
  • Runtime applies the aura to players and generated Rogue companions. With the generated Rogue baseline of 100 maximum Energy and 10 Energy per second, an active aura yields 150 maximum Energy and 20 Energy per second before other modifiers; Energy costs gain 20% through the shared resource-cost path. Maximum Energy returns to the prior value on removal while current Energy is preserved/clamped by the resource model.
  • The simulator implements the cooldown rider as subtracting 100 ms from each committed skill cooldown while the aura is active. CoA states “reduces skill cooldowns by 0.1s” but does not specify timing or interaction with other cooldown modifiers; the implementation uses a flat reduction once per committed cast.
  • Switching between the two hands effects is exclusive for the Rogue rows. Companion automation holds its selected effect through its duration because generated companions do not have a hands-effect configuration control; player-selected casts replace the other effect.

Limits still open

  • CoA gives no numerical Poisonous Hands proc probability. The runtime uses the generated local 50% value pending an authoritative CoA rate.
  • Poison Bottle possession and consumption are not modeled.
  • CoA confirms faster main-hand speed lowers both casts' execution times but does not publish a formula. Runtime uses the current page's 1-second base cast; dynamic attack-speed scaling remains unsupported.
  • CoA names the 0.1-second cooldown rider but does not explain aggregation or timing. Runtime applies one flat 100 ms subtraction when each skill cooldown is committed.

Files and verification

romRoguePoisonRuntime.ts handles the proc, separate target debuff, ten-stack cap, attack-speed ramp, and target-switch reset. romRogueEnergizedHandsRuntime.ts describes the synthetic current-CoA Energized aura and tracks its Energy maximum. romAbilityCatalog.ts overrides the exact Rogue rows and tooltips; combatStore.ts and partyRuntime.ts integrate player/companion attacks, resources, aura exclusivity, and cooldowns. Generated RuneWaker catalog data remains unchanged.

Focused verification passed: romCombatMechanics.test.ts (21), romRoguePoisonRuntime.test.ts (17), romCreatureFamilies.test.ts (3), romRogueCurrentCoaHands.integration.test.ts (3), and romRoguePoison.integration.test.ts (5), for 49 tests total.
