RoM Druid/Rogue: Current CoA Mechanics

Scope and source choice

The profile applies only to the rom-druid / rom-rogue pair and CoA skill IDs 494321 (Necrotic Wound), 494024 (Corrosive Poison), and 494023 (Sinister Request). RuneWaker assigns different effects to these local IDs, so this profile replaces the conflicting RuneWaker effects instead of combining them. The current English CoA Druid/Rogue skills page supplies current names and tooltip values; patch notes resolve values the current page leaves stale or vague. This is a RoM feature, so no WotLKDB data is used.

Necrotic Wound and Corrosive Poison

  • CoA requires Corrosive Poison on the selected target and one Nature's Power. Wound costs 4% MP, channels for 1.5 seconds, hits three times for 329.7% Dark damage per hit, spreads Corrosive Poison, and has no cooldown.
  • Patch 10.4.0.4000 removed Wound's cooldown. Patch 11.1.2.1000 set three hits; 11.1.5.2000 set the 1.5-second channel, 4% MP cost, and cooldown rider; 11.1.5.3000 and 11.1.6.2000 reduced its damage to the current 329.7% and made Nature's Power consumption once per cast.
  • CoA's published range/radius values are 150/80. The project maps these source distances by dividing by ten, yielding range 15 and target-centered radius 8. The channel uses three evenly spaced pulses at 500 ms intervals; CoA specifies hit count and total duration but not individual pulse timestamps. The scheduler spaces pulses across the actual cast duration and retains Penance's immediate first pulse. The focused channel suite passes all six tests, including accelerated Penance.
  • A successful cast hits enemies within radius 8 of the selected target and applies a fresh 12-second Corrosive Poison to each hit target. CoA specifies that poison spreads but not whether it copies remaining duration; refreshing the full duration is the simulator's explicit approximation. No target cap or per-extra-target damage falloff is added because patch 12.1.0.5000 removed Wound's prior 8% falloff. The simulator does not apply CoA's separate global 50% area-damage multiplier, so this profile does not invent a Wound-specific substitute.
  • Corrosive Poison costs 25 Energy, has a one-second cooldown, and deals 11,342 Dark damage each second for 12 seconds at +105. The English page and English patch history say 25 Energy; the Japanese-localized page says 25 MP. The English value is used and the locale discrepancy is kept visible. Patch 12.1.0.5500 supplies the 11,342 damage value.
  • Each successful Wound cast reduces Sinister Request's remaining cooldown by one second. This rider comes from patch 11.1.5.2000; the helper cannot move readiness earlier than the current time. The channel's three synthetic hit events defer this rider, so it applies once when the channel completes instead of once per pulse.
  • The Wound channel pays its 4% Mana and Nature's Power costs at channel start. Completion now checks only costsToSpend, which is empty for an already-paid channel; this prevents it from rechecking and rejecting the prepaid Nature's Power after it reaches zero. The player regression verifies payment once, three hits, spread to the primary and nearby targets, and no old root/healing-reduction effect.

Sinister Request

  • The current CoA tooltip restores MP, Rage, Focus, Energy, Psi, and Nature's Power for party members within radius 150 and lists no activation cost. This replaces the generated RuneWaker 494023 row's 15-Energy Speed Catalysis cost along with its old haste effect. Patch 12.1.6.2004 lowers the stale page cooldown from 20 to 15 seconds. The CoA page and patch 11.1.5.2000 also establish the one-second cooldown reductions from successful Poisonous Widow Embrace and Necrotic Wound casts.
  • Runtime uses a party circle with radius 15 after the project's source-distance conversion. Its existing selector also requires a known position and line of sight; line of sight is a simulator constraint, not an extra CoA tooltip rule.
  • Runtime fills only resource pools the recipient already has, caps each value at that pool's maximum, and records the refill against the caster and recipient. It does not synthesize missing pools. The player and companion paths are covered; companion AI selects the skill for a nearby living ally with a depleted supported pool even when the caster is full. A fully restored party or absent resource pool does not trigger that AI choice.

Files and verification

  • romDruidRogueCurrentCoa.ts holds the pair gate, values, tooltips, resource effects, and cooldown rider. romAbilityCatalog.ts, romDruidOverrides.ts, and romCombatMechanics.ts replace stale effects and enforce the poison prerequisite.
  • combatChannelAmounts.ts, combatStore.ts, and partyRuntime.ts handle channel timing, player/companion poison spread, cooldown reduction, and resource restoration. partyAbilityAi.ts and combatRotation.ts provide the depleted-ally selector.
  • Focused coverage: romDruidRuntime.test.ts (15 tests), romDruidRogueCurrentCoa.test.ts, romDruidRogueSinisterRequest.test.ts, romDruidRogueSinisterRequest.integration.test.ts, partyAbilityAi.test.ts, and combatChannelAmounts.test.ts (6 tests). The Sinister Request/catalog/AI run passed 29 tests across four files.
