RoM Druid/Mage: Current CoA Inspiration

Source choice and identity

This profile is limited to the Druid-primary/Mage-secondary pair and passive ID 494322. The current CoA Druid/Mage page lists Inspiration under Druid/Mage at level 30 with the same ID and name as the local RuneWaker passive, so this is a matching skill identity rather than an ID-only cross-pair guess. The current CoA mechanic replaces the conflicting local RuneWaker trigger.

The generated RuneWaker row has no components and says a Fireball hit has a chance to make the next spell cast in under one second. Current CoA instead says spending Nature's Power inspires nearby raid members. Patch 11.1.5.3000 specifies the reworked event and payload: each Nature's Power spend grants an Inspiration stack that gives 2% physical attack speed and 2% cast speed, stacks up to ten, and lasts ten seconds. At ten stacks the modeled bonus is +20% to each stat.

Runtime behavior and simulator choices

  • The pure helper in src/game/romDruidMageInspirationRuntime.ts represents one stack for each positive Nature's Power spend event, regardless of amount, with a 0–10 cap and +2 percentage points per stack. The player and generated-companion combat paths now invoke it after a successful positive Nature's Power cost or an actual caster-target Nature's Power drain. A partial/empty drain grants no stack; spending multiple points in one event still grants one stack.
  • The passive is deterministic on a qualifying spend under the current CoA text. The older RuneWaker Fireball proc chance is not carried forward in the current tooltip or helper.
  • The current CoA page lists Range: 50 and says “raid members around.” The simulator cannot represent a raid, so runtime covers the player and modeled party members only. Existing CoA range conversion maps source units 10:1 to simulator units (for example, 150 to 15); applying that same convention makes this a 5-unit party radius. The page does not say whether the listed range is centered on the passive owner, so a caster-centered radius is an explicit simulator interpretation. The modeled check uses inclusive 3D distance, includes the living caster, and excludes dead or unplaced allies.
  • CoA states a 10-second duration but not whether each stack has an independent timer or the entire stack aura refreshes together. Runtime uses the existing refreshable stack-aura model: each qualifying spend adds one stack and refreshes the shared aura's 10-second duration. This preserves the sourced cap and duration without inventing per-stack expiry timestamps.
  • Each stack contributes +2% physical attack speed and +2% spell haste, up to +20%. The simulator separates melee and ranged haste, so the physical clause writes to both haste stats; this lets Hunter ranged swings and other physical autoattacks use the same CoA bonus. Spell haste reaches cast durations and GCDs. The Mage player's older generic aura reader skips this tagged Inspiration aura because the new shared haste path already includes it; this avoids applying spell haste twice to a Mage recipient. Existing unrelated haste sources continue to combine through their current haste paths.
  • CoA also says this passive speeds up Fireball and restores one Nature's Power. The official-source audit for those separate clauses is below; neither clause is wired in runtime.

Inspiration's separate Fireball clauses: official-source audit

  • The current CoA Druid/Mage skill page lists Fireball under Mage General, level 30, ID 499943, as an instant 6-second-cooldown spell. Its tooltip describes 3010 + 0.3 x Wisdom Fire damage and one Nature's Power restored. The same page describes Inspiration as making Fireball travel “a lot quicker” and recovering one Nature's Power.
  • The local generated RuneWaker catalog has rom-mage-general-0, general Mage Fireball ID 490204, unlocked at level 4; its generated description references fixed damage scaled from INT. Both rows are Mage General Fireballs with the same name. The 11.1.5.4000 patch notes say Druid/Mage Fireball's fixed damage changed from Intelligence to Wisdom, which strongly supports 499943 being the current CoA counterpart of the local Fireball. However, the official sources reviewed do not explicitly state that IDs 499943 and 490204 are aliases or that one replaces the other. Conclusion: likely same intended action, but not formally established by an ID mapping; preserve the ID discrepancy in any implementation note.
  • The official 10.4.1.1003 patch notes say Inspiration was changed to make Fireball travel faster “additionally.” This confirms a qualitative travel-speed rider existed, but gives no percentage, formula, or exact Fireball row ID. The current page still gives only the qualitative phrase “a lot quicker.” The official 11.1.5.4000 patch notes later changed Fireball's fixed-damage scaling from Intelligence to Wisdom in the Druid/Mage section, but likewise do not identify its row ID or quantify projectile speed.
  • The official 11.1.5.3000 patch notes say Druid/Mage Fireball was changed to grant one Nature's Power additionally. The Fireball row's own tooltip also states that it restores one point, while Inspiration's tooltip separately says it recovers one point. The sources reviewed do not clarify whether Inspiration adds a second point or describes the Fireball grant, nor whether the point is granted on use, projectile launch, hit, or successful damage. The separate Inspiration change in the 10.4.1.1003 notes says it had a one-second delay; that does not establish the resource grant timing.
  • Conclusion: CoA supports the qualitative travel-speed rider and a one-point Nature's Power grant associated with Druid/Mage Fireball. The current row, local row, and patch-history stat change make 499943 a likely counterpart to local 490204, but do not formally map those IDs. Sources give no numeric speed effect, no event timing for the point, and no resolution of whether Inspiration's wording is an additional point. Do not infer these details.

Catalog and runtime integration

The catalog overrides the existing generated passive row only when it is rom-druid / rom-mage ID 494322. It preserves that row's ID and learn level, clears the conflicting translated legacy effect payload, and uses the current CoA description on both the passive and its rank. No new ability row was added. Catalog regressions verify this exact-pair gating, existing-row identity, empty legacy effects/costs, and current tooltip text.

Player casts in src/game/combatStore.ts and generated-companion casts in src/game/partyRuntime.ts check for the learned exact-pair passive and apply one stack to living party actors in the interpreted radius. They listen to both committed direct Nature's Power costs and successful caster-target resource drains, since RuneWaker Druid skills commonly spend the resource through an effect instead of a cast-cost field. src/game/romDruidMageInspirationRuntime.ts owns the shared ten-stack aura and recipient geometry. The existing player and party haste consumers now read its melee- and spell-haste modifiers.

Focused validation: six helper tests cover exact-pair gating, one stack per spend event, cap, refresh, melee/ranged/spell stat payloads, and radius; three catalog tests cover current CoA identity and tooltip; three player/companion integration tests cover actual Nature's Power spends, nearby-recipient filtering, and cast-speed application without applying the bonus twice to a Mage recipient. Autoattack timing uses the existing shared melee/ranged haste stat paths; no separate weapon model was introduced for this passive.
