# Warlock/Priest Spreading Pain (499856)
## Source and local conflict
- The [current CoA Warlock/Priest skill list](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/wiki/skills/list/9-5) lists Spreading Pain as the same ID, name, and class pairing as the local RuneWaker skill. It specifies three linked debuffs, +18% Magical Attack Power, +25% Magical Critical Bonus, and activation of Healing Fortune.
- [CoA patch 10.6.1](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/patch/10-6-1-1000) narrows the Healing Fortune rider to +12% healing for 20 seconds. Its Wisdom gain and Warp Charge behavior are separate Healing Fortune clauses and are not granted by Spreading Pain.
RuneWaker's linked child casts 497959/497960/497964 remain. The current CoA additions are applied to this exact Warlock/Priest skill; other class pairs and skills are untouched. CoA also lists 10% MP plus 15 Focus and range 150, while the local row has 15 Focus and range 22.5. The simulator has no Mana resource for RoM Warlock and has no verified CoA range conversion, so the local Focus cost/range remain and the unsupported 10% base-MP cost is called out rather than approximated.
## Implemented behavior
The class-specific helper retains the generated child effects and adds three caster buffs: +18% magical attack and +25% Magical Critical Bonus for 30 seconds, plus +12% healing for 20 seconds. The central critical resolver consumes the tagged bonus only for magical spell criticals from the exact Warlock/Priest build. It scales the critical-bonus portion `(multiplier − 1)` by 1.25; for a baseline 2.0 critical multiplier, the result is 2.25. It does not add critical chance or modify ordinary hits. The same rule applies to player and generated-companion magical spell damage.
Focused coverage verifies both actor paths: buff application, baseline-to-enhanced critical multiplier, physical/non-magical exclusions, and no bonus outside the active exact-pair aura. The companion hit path is resolved through the shared combat critical calculation.
## Runtime/source boundary
`romWarlockPriestSpreadingPain.ts` defines the source-tagged effects and multiplier rule. `romAbilityCatalog.ts` keeps the CoA behavior exact-pair scoped; `combatStore.ts` consumes the active aura at hit resolution; `partyRuntime.ts` supplies generated-companion spell crits with the same central calculation while preserving party runtime's normal hit-avoidance behavior.
The catalog/runtime does not invent a mapping for CoA range 150 or the 10% base-MP cost. These remain source/catalog discrepancies, not implemented values. RuneWaker's child mappings stay intact because the current CoA source retains the named debuff effects alongside its additional caster buffs.
