# RoM Warlock Remaining CoA and RuneWaker Conflicts
Source review verified 2026-10-02 against the current [CoA Warlock/Warrior list](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/wiki/skills/list/9-1), [CoA Warlock/Priest list](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/wiki/skills/list/9-5), and the patch history linked below. Scope is limited to unresolved Warlock items and duplicate blockers across the WoW and RuneWaker backlog sections. Each item below is one distinct mechanic; completed current-pair fixes are recorded once so the aggregate rows do not reopen them.
> **Local RuneWaker follow-up:** [The source follow-up](ROM_WARLOCK_SOURCE_FOLLOWUP_2026-10-02.md) identifies a guaranteed local Mind Shield 498648 → Ring 498641 reset on landed Urgent Heal, local learned 499869 as Warlock/Warrior Mind Transference, and local End of Thought 498699 as Warlock/Rogue with a pre-hit <=35% callback but no located timed-child consumer. These do not fill the current-CoA reset probability, Psychic Warrior combat, End of Thought, or Breathing Control contracts. The findings below remain the current-CoA blocker reference.
## Current behavior already resolved
- **Mind Transference 498642 (Warlock/Warrior):** current CoA behavior is 75 Rage for 6 Psi with a one-second cooldown. Patch [10.2.1](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/patch/10-2-1-1000) establishes the 6-Psi conversion and [11.1.2](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/patch/11-1-2-1000) establishes 75 Rage and the one-second cooldown. Player and companion behavior is already tested. The local 621320 +40% physical-attack child rider is excluded; it is not in the current CoA description.
- **Divine Assistance 498668 (Warlock/Priest):** the stale RuneWaker Inspiration/Defense Net reset text is replaced with current CoA's passive +16% Magical Damage and Healing. The current [pair page](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/wiki/skills/list/9-5) and patches [10.2.1](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/patch/10-2-1-1000) and [12.1.0](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/patch/12-1-0-5000) support the rework. Player and companion coverage exists.
- **Ring of Comfort 498641 (Warlock/Priest):** current CoA says the cast also provides 1 Psi. Runtime grants one Psi to the caster per accepted exact-pair cast. Treating the resource recipient as the caster is an explicit recipient interpretation; the CoA row does not name that recipient. Caster scoping prevents area-heal fanout and prevents the selected ally from receiving the Psi. Player and generated-companion tests cover accepted casts, area healing, cap behavior, and wrong-pair exclusion. This is a source interpretation, not a separately published recipient rule.
- **Mind Shield 498648 (Warlock/Priest), sourced Urgent Heal rider:** current CoA says Urgent Heal provides 1 Psi. Runtime now grants that one Psi to the caster using the same explicit caster-recipient interpretation as Ring of Comfort. Player and generated-companion tests verify that the selected ally receives none and that the caster's Psi cap is respected. Defense Net's existing one-second duration reduction remains active.
- **Breathing Control 498634 tooltip:** the catalog now lists all eight current CoA trigger skills—Psychic Arrows, Warp Charge, Weakening Weave Curse, Slash, Soul Trauma, Puzzlement, Heart Collection Strike, and Surge of Malice—and describes automatic Enraged triggering. It no longer advertises the obsolete cooldown reset. This is descriptive only; no proc was added.
## Distinct source blockers that remain
- **Breathing Control 498634 automatic Enraged proc:** the [current CoA row](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/wiki/skills/list/9-1) and patches [10.7.1](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/patch/10-7-1-2000) and [11.1.2](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/patch/11-1-2-1000) establish the skill list and automatic trigger. They do not establish the proc probability or exact event phase/timing, nor the amount of extra Focus recovered by Enraged. Keep the proc and Focus rider unwired until those values and event links are sourced.
- **Deep Breathing Control 499870:** current CoA and [patch 11.1.2.3000](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/patch/11-1-2-3000) establish an extra 15% HP and increased Breathing Control Focus recovery. They do not say whether the HP recovery occurs on manually cast Enraged 499871 or only on an automatic Breathing Control proc, and they omit the extra Focus amount. Do not attach the heal to manual Enraged or guess the Focus amount without an explicit trigger link and value.
- **Mind Shield 498648 reset and defense clauses:** the [current CoA pair row](https://chroniclesofarcadia.com/en/wiki/skills/list/9-5) says Urgent Heal has a chance to reset Ring of Comfort and says Defense Net's Physical Defense is enhanced while its effect time is shortened. The reset probability is not given and the Physical Defense enhancement amount is unquantified. Keep the chance-based reset and defense-value modifier unwired; the separately sourced +1 Psi on Urgent Heal is already implemented above.
- **Psychic Warrior 499868 integration:** current CoA and patch history establish 187.5% main-hand DPS for area targets and 1,050% for single targets, with the damage described as Physical Dark. The isolated helper retains the two source tags and current ratios. Combat integration remains blocked until the simulator has a sourced/decided Physical-Dark mitigation rule and the extra hit's cadence and roll inheritance (cast, target, packet, and channel/periodic timing; hit/crit/avoidance/block behavior) are resolved. The conditional Slash/Consistent Heart Strike main-hand rider also has no published amount. See [the bounded Psychic Warrior note](ROM_WARLOCK_WARRIOR_PSYCHIC_WARRIOR.md).
- **Current-CoA identity of local 499869:** the [local source follow-up](ROM_WARLOCK_SOURCE_FOLLOWUP_2026-10-02.md) identifies 499869 as a learned level-70 Warlock/Warrior Mind Transference row (key 546844, prerequisite 499868, slot 25), not an unidentified child. No current-CoA source establishes that local conversion as current Psychic Warrior or Enraged behavior; keep those contracts separate.
- **End of Thought 498699:** the local periodic component has no tick interval (`dotTime` is zero), and the reviewed current CoA source notes do not provide one. Do not choose a cadence until a matching-version source gives it.
- **WoW Soul Leech (talent-1678):** this is the single WoW Warlock blocker, separate from RuneWaker Warlock mechanics. Custom patch-D helper rows 830297–830299 are unlinked from any talent rank; they do not establish the physical-hit trigger, rank gate, or one-charge/cast-finish consumption. Keep the critical-chance rider unwired until the talent-to-helper link and trigger semantics are sourced.

## Backlog deduplication map
In `ACTIVE_CLASS_MECHANICS_BACKLOG.md`, Mind Transference (Warlock/Warrior 498642) and Divine Assistance (Warlock/Priest 498668) are completed and should stay closed. Psychic Warrior 499868, Breathing Control 498634, Deep Breathing Control 499870, Mind Shield's Ring reset/defense clauses, the current-CoA relationship of local 499869, and End of Thought 498699 remain separate RoM items with the prerequisites above. Local 499869 itself is identified as a learned Warlock/Warrior Mind Transference variant, not an unidentified child. Mind Shield's +1 Psi on Urgent Heal is completed; it should not be repeated as an open mechanic. The aggregate RuneWaker lines about "remaining Priest-pair passives" and reconciling Mind Transference/Divine Assistance should be reduced to the unresolved mechanic names only. Keep the WoW Soul Leech 1678 source blocker as one standalone WoW item; do not duplicate it under RuneWaker Warlock.

## Validation
`npx vitest run src/game/romWarlockRuntime.test.ts` passes all 21 tests. New focused coverage checks the current Breathing Control description has no obsolete reset effect; Ring of Comfort grants exactly one caster Psi on accepted exact-pair casts, never fans it out to healing recipients, respects the cap, rejects wrong-pair effects, and grants nothing on a rejected cast; and Mind Shield's Urgent Heal Psi goes to the caster for both the player and generated companion. The shared changes are limited to the `scope: "caster"` resource recipient path in `abilityCatalog.ts`, `combatStore.ts`, and `partyRuntime.ts`.
