RoM Priest remaining conditional passive audit
Protection Rune Seal (Priest/Champion 498613)
The current Chronicles of Arcadia Priest/Champion skill list describes Protection Rune Seal as giving Regenerate a slight chance to reset Heart Rune Energy whenever it heals. The local generated RuneWaker catalog keeps the exact Priest/Champion pair and 498613 identity and specifies an 8% chance. The runtime retains that local 8% choice because the current CoA entry gives no percentage; it does not treat “slight chance” as a numeric source. The same catalog row has no components or numeric healing-strength modifier, so no healing increase is modeled.
Regenerate's actor-owned Protection Rune Seal aura was already attached to both player and companion casts. The uncovered gap was in the triggered-action handler: it accepted only the player aura owner, so a companion's periodic healing tick could never reset that companion's cooldown. The handler now resolves the exact aura owner, requires the Priest/Champion pair and learned 498613, and accepts only a positive periodic heal attributed to Regenerate 490269. It resets only that actor's learned Heart Rune Energy 498612 cooldown. Player behavior remains on the existing path. For companions, both the party member and authoritative actor cooldown snapshots are updated so the subsequent healing sync cannot restore the stale cooldown.
Coverage checks the exact pair, learned passive, trigger type, source skill, positive tick amount, and the local 8% roll boundary. The player reset regression remains covered; a companion integration now verifies aura ownership, no reset before the first tick, the reset on its successful first tick, and unchanged player cooldown. The tick follows the local catalog's 2-second, 20-second Regenerate HoT; each positive periodic healing event is an independent proc opportunity.
Still blocked by missing source data
- Protection Rune Seal's possible healing-strength rider remains unresolved. Current CoA 498613 describes only the cooldown-reset chance; RuneWaker 498613 has no healing modifier data. Do not infer a heal bonus from the passive name or from the cooldown chance.
- Priest/Scout Saint's Blessing's Heal rider remains unresolved at playable ranks. Current CoA names Heal 493048 and gives the rider at skill +105, but no lower-rank curve is published and the local catalog lacks that 493048 Heal row. Local Priest Heal 490261 is a different ability. See the Saint's Blessing source review; do not map the +105 values to the local Heal or infer a lower-rank value.
- The backlog's Warlock/Priest Mind Shield (498648) Ring of Comfort cooldown-reset chance remains unmodeled because its probability is unspecified. See the active mechanics backlog.
Validation
The focused Priest Protection Rune Seal and Shaman Nature's Guardian suites passed: 5 files, 13 tests. A standalone app TypeScript check could not complete because Node exhausted its default heap during type checking; the root task owns the final build check.
